'All Cats Are Grey (Tous les chats sont gris)' | SBIFF Feature 2015

Paul is a detective in his forties. Dorothy, almost 16, is going through a serious identity crisis. Paul lives on the fringe of Brussels’ self-righteous society, while Dorothy has grown up in the heart of this wealthy milieu. What connects them? Paul knows that he is Dorothy’s biological father. Over the years, away from Dorothy, Paul has always lived with this secret. Now back in Brussels he has been watching her from afar, without ever daring to approach her. And they most probably never would have spoken if Dorothy hadn’t decided one day to come knocking at his door. She’s heard he’s a detective and she wants him to help her find her biological father. 2015 SBIFF Best International Film Award Winner

The Best International Film Award went to Belgium’s All Cats Are Grey (Tous Les Chats Sont Gris) (US Premiere), directed by Savina Dellicour and starring Manon Capelle, Bouli Lanners, Anne Coesens, and Dune de Braconier. A private detective is approached by his estranged teenage daughter when she seeks his professional help in finding her biological father.

Adam Guettel and Mimi de Gruy chose All Cats are Grey because “it is quietly told but cohesive and compelling. The three leads are entirely real in their circumstances. It's a moving film.”
