SBIFF 39: Virtuosos Award Honors Exceptional Talent in Film
Santa Barbara, CA – The Santa Barbara International Film Festival will host its acclaimed Virtuosos Award ceremony on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Arlington Theater. This year’s honorees include a dynamic group of actors who have made significant impacts in film: Danielle Brooks ("The Color Purple"), America Ferrera ("Barbie"), Lily Gladstone ("Killers of the Flower Moon"), Greta Lee ("Past Lives"), Charles Melton ("May December"), Da’Vine Joy Randolph ("The Holdovers"), and Andrew Scott ("All of Us Strangers").
The Virtuosos Award, established to recognize distinctive and compelling performances in cinema, will be presented by actress Jane Lynch, with Turner Classic Movies' Dave Karger moderating the event. This evening is a unique opportunity to delve into the artistic journeys of these accomplished actors, discussing their recent work that has positioned them at the forefront of the national cinematic dialogue.
This prestigious award has a history of honoring actors who have subsequently achieved significant success and acclaim, such as Austin Butler and Zendaya. The event begins with a filmmakers and cast carpet event, and culminates in the tribute at 8:00 PM.
